I signed up for the British Wheel of Yoga (BWY) foundation in yoga course in 2012, I was going through a particularly difficult time in my life & simply wanted to do something for myself that was not work related. By the end I knew I wanted to know more, I felt I had dipped my toe into something that was amazing!
I went on to complete a 500 hour yoga teacher training course at Yogasara Academy in Bristol. I had no intention of teaching just wanted to go deeper into my practice. I began to realise that yoga is not just making shapes on mats, it is about having a greater ability to deal with the ups and downs of life. Yoga has helped me to be less stressed, to worry less, to sleep better and to have more energy. It quite literally changed my life & by the end I felt compelled to share what I had learned and experienced with others. Yoga has so much potential for our physical, emotional & mental wellbeing.
Deciding to sign up for Yoga Therapy training with Heather Mason at the Minded Institute in London, seemed like a natural step to bring together both my nursing skills and yoga experience. Heather’s vision to is to take Yoga Therapy into the NHS as a form of treatment. Exciting times!
I am a qualified Yoga Nidra teacher, a practice that encourages deep relaxation, creativity and healing. It can help with a range of health problems e.g. pain management, sleep difficulties, low mood, anxiety, low energy and stress.
