Art of Viniyoga
Art of Viniyoga Course
The yoga tradition created by TKV Desikachar and his father T. Krishnamacharya is one of the most influential and effective of yoga forms and is sometimes referred to as Viniyoga. The tradition is supported in the UK through the Association of Yoga Studies (aYs) and training within this system is offered by Sadhana Mala. This Art of Viniyoga course will be run by David Wilkinson at the White Horse Yoga Centre.
The Sadhana Mala Art of Viniyoga course will give you a thorough grounding in the principles that underpin this tradition in a practical and enjoyable way. This is an equivalent to the BWY Foundation Course, although experience shows that it not only serves as a Foundation Course for students who have not done one before, but is also of interest to experienced students and teachers trained in other approaches, because of its strong approach-specific content.
Why do this Course?
- This course is ideal for keen students in this tradition who want to understand the principles of yoga and develop their own practice within their tradition.
- It is also a primary requirement for continuing on to the Sadhana Mala Art of Teaching Yoga teacher training course and the subsequent Art of Individual Teaching yoga therapy course, even though the Foundation Course itself is not specifically directed at teaching.
- This course is also perfect for more experienced students or teachers from other backgrounds wishing to understand Desikachar’s tradition in some depth.
- It is also a bridging course for qualified teachers from other backgrounds who are interested in doing the Art of Individual Teaching and qualifying as a Yoga Therapist within this tradition. If you are interested in the Art of Viniyoga Course for this reason it is advised that you contact Sadhana Mala first and discuss your personal situation with either Ranju Roy or Dave Charlton. email to admin@sadhanamala.com.
