This class is open to all students who have at least some experience of yoga but it is not suitable for complete beginners. Most classes will start with a section of somatic based floorwork to encourage a deep release of holding patterns and to promote the ‘felt sense’. This then moves into more traditional asana work much of which is influenced by the Scaravelli approach. Students are encouraged to notice how they are, to discover more natural and easeful ways of moving and to move freely in the practice of yoga without using strain or force. Postures unfold rather than being forced or imposed. This is a class of meditation in movement.
The use of breath is paramount, and students will be guided to use breath in posture work as well as in seated Pranayama/breathing practices.
This is a face to face class in the studio with simultaneous streaming online through Zoom.
